Nik Neuro Philosophy

Our bodies are essentially data collection devices for our nervous systems. All of the data collected goes into maps stored all over our brains. Those maps are broken down into sensation maps & motor (movement) maps. We are born with blank slates and these maps are written via repetition over time, by receiving sensations, moving through space, & interacting with our environment.

Over time and with improper use, injury, body composition changes, poor nutrition, etc. our maps can become blurry & unclear.

Movement Reeducation serves to help upgrade the clarity of our brain's maps! By clarifying the maps, we can improve everything that accesses the maps (which is every system of our bodies) Our nervous system perceives blurry maps as a threat to protect us from! Clarity means safety.

Movement Reeducation is like upgrading the software on our phones, then all the apps improve their function too!

Your Movement Re Education Specialist can see your nervous system function (or dysfunction) by observing your posture, gait, & other specific movements.  Utilizing assessments of your balance, vision, & joint movements,  we can communicate directly with your nervous system. We can determine the unique set of inputs, movements,  or sensations your nervous system is seeking in order to upgrade your movement patterns, reduce pain, increase ROM, etc.

Communication is key in every relationship! Especially the one you have with your body.
